2005/2006 was Ronaldinho's season - the brilliant Brazilian playmaker led Barcelona to a Champions League + La Liga double, instrumental throughout with his goals and ability to unlock even the tighest defences.
Despite being the major player in the Champions League-winning side (12 games, 7 goals, 5 assists) and generally having the season of his life, he was ludicrously overlooked for the Ballon d'Or in favour of the World Cup-winning captain, Fabio Cannavaro.
