Xavi Hernandez 2009/2010: World's Best Playmaker

As you may have gathered by now, I'm a HUGE fan of Xavi. No other player can match his blend of vision, accuracy and intelligence.

As outlined in my previous blog post, Xavi has played a part in 42 of Barcelona's goals this season. According to OPTA statistics, he is the leading creator of chances in La Liga (109) and in the Champions League (37).

He is the greatest playmaker of the last 20 years!

Xavi is simply outstanding. By the way, what is the difference between Fabergas and Xavi. I know at the moment xavi is better. We will never know if Cesc can outshine Xavi, considering that Cesc is still young , there may be a possibility. We will see if, i said if, fabergas ever leaves arsenal for barca, can he blend into their tiki taka game. I think fabergas is more direct then xavi. please reply and give your opinion.

I think Xavi keeps possession better, Fabregas tries forward passes more often and they're great when they do come off, but his high-risk style means he loses the ball more often. Xavi's forward passes are just as good but he picks the right time to play them, meaning that he averages around 90% pass completion yet still manages to assist 20+ goals a season.

Fabregas' goalscoring game is better though and he has superior off the ball movement into the box.
ok, then do you think fabergas will leave to Barca? please reply . one more question mate, do you thinkcesc will be as outstanding as the likes of xavi, lampard, Gerrard etc? please give your opinion.
I think he'll leave either at the end of this season or the next, maybe if we win the league or Champions League he'll give us 1 more year.

I think he's already as good as Gerrard or Lampard, he's had a better creative game for a while but now that he's starting to establish himself as a 15+ goals a season player, then that gives him the overall edge I feel. Given time, I think he can surpass Xavi too because of his goalscoring advantage, but he'll need to refine his playmaking first.
do you think he is as influential as Gerrard and Lampard, I dont think so, at the moment. We will not know if Fabergas breaks lamps record in goalscoring andf assists. Lampard really looks good when it comes to statistics, especially in goalscoring and assists. Lamps averages 20+ goals and assists a season. please give your opinion

Regarding assists, a large proportion of Gerrard's are from set pieces. Lampard has an excellent final pass but I think Fabregas creates more goals overall (directly + indirectly). All that's left for him to surpass those 2 is for him to become a 20-goal a season player, and based on last season's evidence he's on his way to doing so.
